| 1. | Identify the microphone plug on your headset. Headsets usually have 2 plugs at the end, one for the microphone and the other for the headphones. The microphone plug is typically color coded pink, red, or gray and may be stamped with a microphone symbol like or , or the letters MIC. |

If your headset is a USB device it will have only one rectangular plug at the end. Follow the instructions that were included with your microphone for the proper connection procedure.
| 2. | Locate the microphone jack on your computer. The microphone jack is usually color coded pink or red and may have a microphone symbol next to it. First, check the front of your computer as some newer computers provide a jack in the front for easier access. Once you have located a microphone jack, insert the microphone plug of your headset into it as far as it will go. |

It is recommended that you use your external computer speakers for the audio to better hear yourself playing your guitar along with Guitar Guru. Simply leave the headset plug of your microphone disconnected.
| 3. | Check the headphone volume and mute controls. If your headset has volume and mute controls on the cable, make sure the volume knob or slider is set about half-way and the mute switch is off. |
