About Digital Rights Management (DRM)

DRM is a technology used for protecting the property rights of digital media. An audio file protected with DRM ensures that you can legally acquire a license to use the file in certain ways. Typically, licenses granted by Music Service Vendors allow you to play, transfer, and copy the music onto CDs for your own non-commercial use.

This version of Guitar Guru includes the capability to play WMA audio files. Since most WMA files are protected with DRM you must have a license to play them. In most cases you will receive a license automatically when you purchase and download a song from the Music Service Vendor or attempt to play it for the first time. There may be instances when you select an audio file in Guitar Guru that requires license acquisition or a connection to the Music Service Vendor’s site. If this is the case, Guitar Guru will open your web browser to the Music vendor’s license acquisition page.
