Follow these steps to set up Voice Command on your computer:
| 1. | Start Voice Command. Connect the microphone to the microphone jack on your computer, start Guitar Guru and click the microphone button located in the upper-right corner. Click the OK button to close the Reminder for First-Time Users dialog. |

If the Speech Recognition Engine Not Installed dialog box appears, then the speech recognition engine is not installed on your system. See Installing Speech Recognition for instructions on how to install the Microsoft speech components.
| 2. | Configure the microphone. Select Options, point to Voice Command, then click on Microphone Setup and follow the instructions in the Microphone Wizard. |
| 3. | Train Voice Command. Select Options, point to Voice Command, then click on Voice Training and follow the instructions in the Voice Training Wizard. |
Stopping and Starting Voice Command
| • | To stop Voice Command, select Options, point to Voice Command, and click Stop Voice Command. |
| • | To start Voice Command, select Options, point to Voice Command, and click Start Voice Command, or, click the microphone button . |

Voice Command will start automatically if it was running when you last exited Guitar Guru.
Turning the Microphone Off and On
| • | To deactivate the microphone, say Mic Off, or, click the microphone button . While the microphone is deactivated only the command Mic On will be recognized. |
| • | To activate the microphone, say Mic On, or, click the microphone button . |

Whenever you perform an operation in Guitar Guru that is not speech-enabled, or Guitar Guru loses focus to another program the microphone button will change to .
