·  “Strangers” by Lewis Capaldi: From the extended edition of the album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, this is one of the five new songs to be added to Lewis Capaldi’s original album. The song begins by reminiscing about the good times with a significant other. When the relationship didn't work out, it's disappointing that they're back to just being strangers. This emotional ballad features an accessible piano part, so try to connect with the lyrics by thinking of one of your lost loves.

·  “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” by Jon Michael Ogletree: Originally a hit for The Beatles from the White Album, this song was written by George Harrison. It’s considered to be a great example of Harrison's maturing songwriting style, and it happens to be one of Rolling Stone's “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” This beautiful piano solo arrangement by Signature Artist Jon Michael Ogletree includes some jazzy improvisational elements, and it’s a great song to work on during the winter months!

·  “Sweet Lorraine” by Cliff Burwell: A jazz standard from 1928, this is one of Cliff Burwell’s most popular compositions, and it was famously performed by Nat King Cole with his King Cole Trio in 1940. The lyrics describe all the wonderful things about sweet Lorraine. With a jazz standard, the written accompaniment and melody are a great starting point, but get inspired by listening to performances by others to add your own flair! This arrangement is just one of the many great jazz Musicnotes Editions we have to offer.

·  “Rewrite the Stars” by Francesco Parrino: From the hit movie musical The Greatest Showman, this song is about the developing relationship of Phillip and Anne. This advanced piano solo arrangement by Signature Artist Francesco Parrino features gorgeous elaborations of the melody. Relive your favorite moments of this movie by playing this love ballad, which could be a great option for Valentine's Day!

·  “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by PianoSSam: Originally an orchestral piece composed by Edvard Grieg, this well-known classical piece has been a staple in pop culture. This easy arrangement by Signature Artist PianoSSam features the main melody in the right hand with a minimal left hand accompaniment. For an added challenge and a dramatic effect, start the song slowly and gradually speed up the tempo until the end!

·  “Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)” by Billy Joel: Originally by Billy Joel from his album River of Dreams, this is a sweet lullaby that was written for his daughter Alexa Ray. This beautiful SATB a cappella choral arrangement by Philip Lawson features lush harmonies, and be sure to bring out the swelling and fading of each beautiful phrase. This is a great closer for a quiet ending to a choral concert.

Unique Pick of the Week

·  “Non, je ne regrette rien” by Katherine Cordova: Originally performed by French singer Edith Piaf, the first title of the song translated to "No, I will not find anything," but when the composer thought of Piaf singing this song, he changed it to "No, I regret nothing." This powerful arrangement by Signature Artist Katherine Cordova features lush chords and a dramatic ending. Enjoy this triumphant song to start the new year with a clean slate!
