Based on the epic (and then widely banned) 1928 poem by Joseph Moncure March, Andrew Lippa's 'The Wild Party' opened off-Broadway in 2000. Winning the "Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music," Lippa's songs meld jazz, vaudeville and gospel to ensure everyone has a wild good time.
