Although at first listen, Simple Plan may sound quite similar to So-Cal punk heavyweights, Blink-182, this group of five high school buddies actually hails from Montreal. Formed in 1999 by Pierre Bouvier, Jeff Stinco, David Desrosiers, Sebastien Lefebvre and Chuck Comreau, Simple Plan found their first major fan base with 2001's Van's Warped Tour, a staple in punk rock music.
In 2003 the band released their debut album, No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls, and built an even stronger fanbase with hit singles including "I'm Just a Kid," "Addicted," and "Perfect."
The band continued their exploration of the punk-pop sound with their sophomore release, Still Not Getting Any in late 2004 to even greater success. While their pop-punk continues to invigorate and enthuse their core audience, the album's closer and unlikely single "Untitled (Why Does This Happen to Me?)" gained them much wider acclaim with its moody piano and aching lyrics and delivery.
