William Golden turned to songwriting while serving eight years in the Mississippi state penitentiary during the early 19th century. Was his goal to redeem, express or simply entertain himself? That we don't know for certain, but Golden's "A Beautiful Life" makes a strong case for redemption from the very first line, "Each day I'll do a golden deed."

The hymn has since become widely recognized by that first line, performed & recorded by a number of gospel and bluegrass artists throughout the years. Now it's your turn to play "A Beautiful Life," as our free gift through the end of February. Download piano/vocal/chords, 4-part hymn, guitar tab and instrumental arrangements for the song, and enjoy this piece of Americana music in your home today.
