Madison, WI – May 5, 2006 – Musicnotes.com announced today the song “Bless the Broken Road,” is the winner of the fourth annual Musicnotes Song of the Year Award.
The Musicnotes Song of the Year Award is given to the songwriters and publishers of the best-selling sheet music for a song in the previous calendar year. For the 2005 year, this award was given to songwriters Marcus Hummon, Bobby Boyd and Jeff Hanna, and their respective publishing companies BMG Music Publishing and Bug Music.
Originally written in 1994, “Bless the Broken Road” enjoyed new life after being recorded by Rascal Flatts, as well as Carrie Underwood’s performance on the Season 4 finale of Fox’s “American Idol.” The song continues to be a best-seller at the Musicnotes.com web store.
