Madison, WI – February 5, 2004 - Musicnotes, Inc. will present its second annual Musicnotes Song of the Year award in Digital Sheet Music to Linda Perry and her publisher, Famous Music for her Grammy-nominated song “Beautiful”. The award will be presented to Perry and Ira Jaffe, Worldwide President of Famous Music Publishing, during Grammy Week in Los Angeles.
“Beautiful,” written by Perry, was recorded and released as a single by pop artist Christina Aguilera. It also appears on Aguilera’s latest album, Stripped.
"We knew this song was special the first time we heard it," said Musicnotes' CEO, Kathleen Marsh. “We offered the sheet music to our customers even before the video was released and it became an immediate best seller. I am certain that it will continue to be a mainstay in our catalog because it’s a classic song with a universal message.”
