2022 Grammy Winners Musicnotes

Last night, we celebrated all of the incredible music from the past year! The 2022 Grammy Awards was hosted by Trevor Noah at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Silk Sonic opened the show with a performance of “777”, then went on to win four awards for their song “Leave the Door Open”: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance (Tied with Jazmine Sullivan).

Antother big winner was Jon Batiste, who gave a fun and energizing performance of his hit song “Freedom”! He walked away with five Grammys, including the award for Album of the Year (We Are).

In addition to performing,

Olivia Rodrigo

also took home a few awards herself, including Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album (Sour), and Best Pop Solo Performance  (“drivers license”).

We also enjoyed “Happier Than Ever” from Billie Eilish, who wore a Taylor Hawkins shirt in honor of the late Foo Fighters drummer. BTS took the stage to perform “Butter”, while Lil Nas X sang a few of his hit songs. There was also an exciting collaboration between H.E.R. and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Travis Barker, and Lenny Kravitz!
