Recently, we had the chance to sit down for an interview with hit songwriter & producer Jesse Frasure! You may know him from some of his incredible work with artists like Kacey Musgraves, Rascal Flatts, tobyMac, and of course, Thomas Rhett.
Watch and listen as Jesse talks us through the process of writing “Marry Me” with Thomas Rhett. In the interview, Jesse discusses the value of storytelling to a song: “Marry Me” tells the story of what could have happened in Thomas’ life had he not gone to his now-wife Lauren’s home to say he loved her. What if he had to see her marry someone else?
Jesse also gives some advice to younger artists who might be afraid to write about something that they’re not currently experiencing: “I think you can have some liberties and play with storytelling even if it’s not what’s happening in your life.”
