Make Music Day: A Worldwide Celebration of Harmony and Creativity

Make Music Day: A Worldwide Celebration of Harmony and Creativity

While we're making music every day at Musicnotes, today is different. Today, we celebrate Make Music Day—a global phenomenon that encourages everyone to participate in the creation and enjoyment of music!

One of the most extraordinary things about Make Music Day is the variety of venues and performers! You can find a gig in the streets, parks, rooftops, and even private homes, where owners transform the house into a makeshift stage! Our music makers will be out and about at events in Music City, U.S.A, home of our Nashville office, and Madison, WI, home of our corporate headquarters.

Here's a little backstory on the history of Make Music Day:

  • Make Music Day, also called Fête de la Musique, started in France in 1982.
  • It was created to celebrate the summer solstice with music in the streets.
  • American musician Joel Cohen introduced the concept to the United States in 2006.
  • Make Music Day has experienced tremendous growth since then.
  • It has expanded to over 1,000 cities in 120 countries worldwide.

One of our favorite things about Make Music Day is that it embraces the belief that anyone can be a musician, regardless of age, skill level, or musical background. From amateur enthusiasts to seasoned professionals, everyone is encouraged to take part in creating and sharing music. And that's where Musicnotes comes in!

We have sheet music for every skill level and instrument, so you can feel confident starting your musical journey with us or pursuing your path to becoming a professional musician. We make our Musicnotes arrangements in-house, using our dedicated team of skilled arrangers, editors, and performers who ensure every piece of sheet music is as accurate as the original creators' work. We've even won awards for our high-quality arrangements.

And that's not all; want to collaborate with other musicians? Do it with confidence knowing that Musicnotes arrangements can be transposed into any key from our website and FREE apps! We even have a range of tools in our apps that can help you master any piece of sheet music and we have the keys to turn your next performance into something special. Check out our apps to learn more.

Whether you pick up an instrument, sing your heart out, or simply listen and soak in the melodies around you, we hope you have a great Make Music Day!

Love,

Musicnotes
