10. Sam Hunt

An accomplished country songwriter who helped pen hits for Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, Sam Hunt’s solo career heated up with this year’s “Take Your Time,” which peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Hunt followed up “Take Your Time” with “House Party” and “Break Up in a Small Town.”

9. Tori Kelly

Tori Kelly had already garnered a loyal following via her YouTube channel with covers of Sam Smith, Frank Ocean and more. Her 2015 debut album, ‘Unbreakable Smile,’ debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 in June. Bestselling sheet music from the vocalist’s hit album includes “Hollow” and “Nobody Love.”

8. Kygo

Norwegian DJ Kygo shot to stardom with his hit “Firestone” featuring our #5 artist on the list, Conrad Sewell. When Kygo released a “Piano Jam” Soundcloud series (including “Piano Jam,” “Piano Jam 2” and “Piano Jam 3“) that tapped into his instrumental background, EDM and new classical fans eagerly learned to play the catchy, melodic arrangements.

7. Cam

Another new artist who began her career writing for other artists, Cam’s single “Burning House” turned the country music newcomer into one the biggest digital sheet music stars of 2015. According to a Billboard review “Cam manages to pack in frustration, despair, anguish, and torment. But what makes it beautiful is the wounded vocal melody set against gentle guitar strumming and understated strings.”

6. Lunchmoney Lewis

With a very fun piano backbone and laugh-out-loud lyrics, Lunchmoney Lewis’ solo debut “Bills” broke out in Australia and New Zealand in April, and quickly made its way around global charts. The YouTube video has amassed nearly 42 million views since its February 2015 release. We’d venture to guess Lunchmoney’s bills are covered for quite some time.

5. Conrad Sewell

Brisbane native and ‘Australian Idol’ castaway Conrad Sewell gained notoriety after writing/singing on Kygo’s “Firestone,” which rapidly launched a successful solo career for the 27-year-old vocalist. Sewell opened for Ed Sheeran in Australia and will join Maroon 5 on its upcoming tour.

4. The Weeknd

Although not technically a “new artist,” 2015 was The Weeknd’s breakout sheet music year. His second album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness’ spawned an array of sheet music hits for the R&B phenom. From “The Hills” to “Can’t Feel My Face” and more, musicians couldn’t wait for The Weeknd sheet music in 2015.

3. Ella Henderson

Having gained the praise of star fans like Adele, Lily Allen and Cher after auditioning on Britain’s The X Factor in 2012, singer-songwriter Ella Henderson’s hit song “Ghost” reached international hit status last year. Her follow-up singles “Glow,” “Yours” and “Mirror Man” proved equally as popular with Musicnotes musicians in 2015. Henderson also lent her vocal power to #8, Kygo’s, “Here for You,” released in September.

2. Rachel Platten

What might be considered THE pop anthem of 2015, “Fight Song” inspired and empowered musicians of all skill levels. Rachel Platten’s first full-length album, ‘Wildfire,’ debuted on January 1, and we’re eager to play more new sheet music from the up-and-comer (including the just-released “Better Place“).

1. Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth’s many musical talents were first recognized by fans via acoustic covers posted on YouTube, including his amazing cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” After writing/performing on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” from ‘Furious 7’ last year, Puth shot to super stardom, collaborating with 2014 breakout artist Meghan Trainor for “Marvin Gaye” and releasing his solo single “One Call Away.” His full album is set to release later this month, and we can’t wait to see what new sheet music will come of it.
