It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Player Piano With a Brand NEW Arrangement & Video

MADISON, WI — October 6, 2015 — Musicnotes.com, the world’s leading digital sheet music retailer and publisher, is excited to announce the release of a brand-new digital sheet music and video package by Player Piano, the award-winning digital series that pairs virtuosic piano compositions with elaborately themed videos.

Debuting today, Player Piano’s “Superman March” is one of composer Sonya Belousova’s most technically challenging arrangements to-date. The video, directed by the other half of Player Piano, renowned filmmaker Tom Grey, features Belousova cosplaying as journalist Lois Lane while performing the latest in Player Piano’s catalogue of pop culture musical reimaginations.

The “Superman” music video follows in the footsteps of previous Player Piano cinematic tributes including the Doctor Who Theme, as well as additional pop culture piano arrangement favorites like Tetris, Bohemian Rhaposdy and Duel of the Bumblebees.

Grey said that he and Belousova chose “Superman” as an homage to superhero songs.

“We just love this theme,” he said. “When we began talking about superhero themes, the two that stood out were, of course, “Batman” and “Superman.” How could we not do one of John Williams’ most iconic scores?” Grey added that we can be on the lookout for a “Batman” theme in coming months.

Grey and Belousova have thus far teamed up to release twelve videos, all available for viewing now on the Player Piano YouTube channel. The Player Piano YouTube channel has garnered more than 100k subscribers and more than 7 million views.

Musicnotes is proud to offer an array of officially licensed Player Piano digital sheet music, inspiring pianists everywhere to play with the passion and excitement that Belousova demonstrates in the music videos. Player Piano digital sheet music, as well as Musicnotes’ entire catalogue of 300,000 arrangements, can be instantly downloaded and printed, as well as synced to Musicnotes’ completely free digital sheet music mobile and desktop apps for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows devices.
