On November 26, the world lost an incredible musical theater composer and lyricist: Stephen Sondheim.

Arguably one of the most important people in theater during the 20th century, Stephen wrote the lyrics for West Side Story back in 1957 and continued to grow his career from there: Follies, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Merrily We Roll Along, Into the Woods. And that’s just a few of them; there are so many incredible shows.

The awards he earned were numerous and well-deserved, including eight Tony Awards, eight Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Stephen’s music has had a major impact on the musical theater industry and will continue to still be influential in the future.
