·  “My Love Mine All Mine” by Mitski: From her recent album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, Mitski wants to send her love to the moon so it can continue to shine down on others, and she hopes that even when she dies, her love still lives on with her partner. This poetic love song includes a simple but interesting chordal accompaniment, so be sure to bring out the thought-provoking lyrics.

·  “Dreaming” by Marshmello, Pink, and Sting: Featured on Pink's upcoming album TRUSTFALL - Tour Deluxe Edition, this song is a Dance/EDM update to Sting's hit song “Fields of Gold.” The accompaniment features repetitive piano patterns, so be sure to focus on each one to get used to movement of left hand. Bring a friend to sing the duet part, and get the dance party started!

·  “Rush Skeletons” by Sheet Music Boss: Just in time for Halloween, Signature Artist Sheet Music Boss brings us this piece, which is a spooky mix of “Rush E” and “Spooky Scary Skeletons.” It begins very slowly and gradually accelerates until the end of the song. Practice at a much slower tempo first to get used to the flow of the piece, and focus on the left hand movement. Build up to faster tempos, and jam to this song to get in the Halloween spirit!

·  “A Lovely Night” from La La Land: Check out this new piano solo arrangement from the hit movie musical La La Land. In the movie, Sebastian and Mia sing about wasting a lovely night even though they clearly have chemistry. This song and dance number is reminiscent of the relationship portrayed by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Enjoy playing the cool bass line along with the swinging melody.

·  “Ding! Dong! Merrily on High” by Philip Lawson: This is a challenging but fun new take on a traditional Christmas classic. The SATBB a cappella arrangement features changing time signatures, including 5/8 time in some parts, as well as changing moods to bring a comedic effect to this seasonal piece. Work on the song in sections, and be sure to keep it light and joyful! (Note: The video clip is not the Philip Lawson arrangement as one does not exist yet.)

·  “Zora's Domain (Day)” by The Meeks Duo: Featured in The Legend of Zelda video games Breath of the Wild as well as the recently released Tears of the Kingdom, Zora’s Domain is in different locations in each game, but it is always near a water feature. Water is definitely the focus of this piece by Signature Artist The Meeks Duo, including legato sixteenth notes and triplets. Enjoy playing this beautiful, flowing piece with a friend.

Unique Pick of the Week

·  “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” by Air Supply: A hit for the soft rock duo Air Supply in 1983, this power ballad is characteristic of the songwriter Jim Steinman, who was also a songwriter for Meat Loaf. Piano is a big part of this ballad, so this song translates well to a piano solo. Be sure to bring out the heartbreaking theatrics of this dramatic ballad about a doomed relationship.
