·  “Butterfly” by Jon Batiste: From his recently released album World Music Radio, Jon Batiste wrote this lullaby for his wife when she was going through her cancer treatment. In this inspirational song, the butterfly signifies freedom and beauty, and Jon is hopeful that his wife will make it through this tough time and “fly away” to better days. Enjoy playing this beautiful piano part to lift your spirits, or play it for someone that may be experiencing a hardship.

·  “Saint-Malo” from All the Light We Cannot See: The limited series All the Light We Cannot See is based on the book of the same name about a blind French girl and a German soldier that’s forced to fight in the Nazi regime during World War II. The story takes place in Saint-Malo, France, and this song is a beautiful but sad theme for a city experiencing war. Focus on the phrasing of this piece to make the melodic line shine.

·  “Crazy for Christmas” by Lindsey Stirling feat. Bonnie McKee: From the Christmas album Snow Waltz, this song explains their love of Christmas, and they think we should celebrate the holiday as long as possible. This is the violin duet part included in the original recording. Bring a friend along to play this bouncy accompaniment, and sing along to show your love for one of the best holidays of the year!

·  “Nocturne (Interlude)” by Signature Score: Originally by Laufey from her recent album Bewitched, this beautiful piano solo arranged by Signature Artist Signature Score showcases her musicality and incorporates melodies from her other songs on the album. Be sure to focus on the changing piano patterns, and add some pedaling to bring out the smoothness of the piece.

·  “Christmas Tree Farm” by Taylor Swift: Released in 2019 as a single, this song was inspired by a charming Christmas vacation, and the lyrics describe all the fun activities that are a part of the Christmas season. This catchy, upbeat song is the piano solo version, which includes the accompaniment and the melody line. Sing along, or let your piano-playing fingers cover the melody!

·  “The Winner Takes it All” by Kelly Valleau: Originally by ABBA, this is one of the group’s more well-known songs, and it was recently performed on singing competitions like American Idol and The Voice. This fingerstyle guitar arrangement by Signature Artist Kelly Valleau is a beautiful, more peaceful version. Bring out the meaningful melody alongside the flowing accompaniment of this emotional ballad.

Unique Pick of the Week

·  “Beethoven Meets Last Christmas” by Florian Wagner: A 1980s Christmas classic originally by British duo Wham!, Signature Artist Florian Wagner puts a classical spin on it by adding musical elements reminiscent of Beethoven. It includes many elaborations of the chords and the melody, so make sure to highlight where the melody goes throughout this interesting, challenging classical arrangement.
