· “Life Lesson” by Jon Batiste feat. Lana Del Rey:  This is the last track from Jon Batiste’s new album World Live Radio. It was originally recorded for Lana Del Rey's album, and this is their second collaboration after the success of “Candy Necklace.” The lyrics bring up that a complicated relationship turned out to be a life lesson. Enjoy playing the beautiful broken chord accompaniment for this calm ending to an album.

· “How Could We Know” by Eric Clapton: Part of Eric Clapton’s new double A-side single, this song features new artists Judith Hill, Daniel Santiago, and Simon Climie. It includes interesting chord shifts as well as a variety of vocalists. This mellow acoustic guitar-driven song is perfect for your end-of-the-summer soundtrack!

· “Aria con Variazioni” by George Frederick Handel: This transcribed arrangement for trumpet and piano was originally scored for harpsichord. The song is also known as “The Harmonious Blacksmith,” and it is standard performance repertoire for trumpet. It introduces the player to the Baroque style of playing, including ornamentation. There are five variations of the same melody, and all variations have a specific focus and style.

· “Time” by Laurie Théberge: Originally from the hit movie Inception, this arrangement from Signature Artist Laurie Théberge begins with simple repeated notes. It gradually builds to more complicated motives, including duple versus triple patterns towards the end. Be sure to focus on each separate section to master the rhythmic intricacies.

· “Afternoon Rain” by Charles Szczepanek: From our Signature Artist’s album Moments of Reflection, these songs take us on a journey through the calm, peaceful moments of the day. “Afternoon Rain” brings out the sounds of the drops of rain, and one can tell that this is a gentle rain shower. Keep the triplets and the moving notes simple and easygoing throughout.

· “Love of My Life” by Harpistkt Kristan Toczko: This harp arrangement from Signature Artist Harpistkt Kristan Toczko gives us a different take on the Queen classic. The song is suitable for intermediate players, and be sure to bring out the rolling chords.

Unique Pick of the Week

· “Barbie Girl” by Relaxing Piano Covers: Originally a ‘90s hit for the band Aqua, this is a more relaxing version of the dance-pop song. Our Signature Artist Relaxing Piano Covers turns the song into a flowing piano ballad. Play this hit after an afternoon of watching the movie Barbie in theaters!
