· “Used to Be Young” by Miley Cyrus: From Miley’s recent album Endless Summer Vacation, this song is a reflection of her past, but she is looking forward to what’s coming up in the future. The song begins with a simple piano riff and then transitions to an emotional chorus with interesting chord shifts. Enjoy playing this accessible piano ballad that tells us that “those wasted nights are not wasted.”

· “Let It Be” by Dolly Parton feat. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr:From her upcoming album Rockstar, Dolly Parton teams up with Paul McCartney on piano and Ringo Starr on drums to perform their iconic Beatles classic. This song features the well-known chord patterns and riffs from the original with Dolly Parton's spin on the melody, and this sheet music arrangement includes backup vocals and a notated guitar solo. Put your own band together to recreate this musical powerhouse cover!

· “Be Okay” by Lauren Daigle: This is the next single from Lauren Daigle’s upcoming self-titled album. The soaring, inspirational ballad explains that if you're going through a rough time, it's all going to be okay. The vocal part is in a lower alto register, and this arrangement includes a nice piano interlude in the middle of the song.

· “This Is Halloween” by Chrissy Ricker: As we’re entering back-to-school time, we look forward to fall and Halloween! Originally from the Halloween (but also Christmas) movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, this easy piano arrangement by our Signature Artist Chrissy Ricker is perfect for beginning piano players that are comfortable with moving away from a set 5-finger hand position. This song includes an introduction to the main melody, and watch for the accidentals in the middle of the song.

· “Heartache” by hesangasong: From the role-playing video game Undertale, this song plays during a fight against Toriel. Video game music can be difficult to translate to piano solos, but our Signature Artist hesangasong does a great job of making this piece accessible to early advanced players. The original song is pretty fast, so work up to that tempo in practice. Focus on left hand eighth note patterns, and figure out a game plan for your fingerings.

· “Sh-Boom” by Sheet Music Boss: Gather ‘round the jukebox for this 1950s doo-wop classic! The more well-known version of this song was performed by The Crew-Cuts, but this arrangement by Signature Artist Sheet Music Boss is based off the original song by The Chords. This single is considered to be the first doo-wop record to reach the top ten in the pop charts. The arrangement features a swinging piano solo towards the end. Be sure to focus on the left hand movement, and bring it home at the end with the big, triumphant chords.

Unique Pick of the Week

· “Sympathique” by SkyGuitar: Originally from Pink Martini, this song was nominated as Song of the Year at Victoires de la Musique Awards in France. It is sung in French, and it’s about someone that’s experienced love but just wants to be on her own right now. This relaxed, laid-back arrangement by Signature Artist SkyGuitar translates well to acoustic fingerstyle guitar, and it is perfect for playing on the back porch and catching the end-of-summer rays!
