· “vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo: This rock opera-inspired song is the much-anticipated lead single from Olivia’s upcoming album GUTS. It begins as an introspective piano ballad and gradually builds as the chord progressions in the chorus keep growing in intensity. Keep the tempo going with the methodical bass line, and belt out this summer hit!
· “When Emma Falls in Love” by Taylor Swift: One of the new songs from the re-release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), this begins with a repeated piano ballad riff at the beginning and eventually builds into a full band with a country-pop feel.
· “This Is How It Feels” by The Theorist: Originally by d4vd featuring Laufey, this Signature Artist arrangement features an interesting chordal structure. Watch for a challenging but impressive arpeggio pattern in the left hand during the chorus, and check out this beautiful, orchestral indie pop song.
· “Segovia, Op. 29” by Albert Roussel: Written in 1925, this is the only guitar work composed by Roussel. It is a light and airy solo guitar piece perfect to play during a peaceful summer day, and this is one of our newest Musicnotes Editions!
· “Home to Another One (Acoustic Version)” by Madison Beer: This is a quieter, more introspective take on the original song from Madison’s upcoming album, Silence Between Songs. The acoustic version shows how versatile her songs can be, and it features a broken chord pattern in the piano part.
· “Broken Horses” by Brandi Carlile:This song was this year’s Grammy winner for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. The sheet music is a combo guitar tab and leadsheet, and it gives you the building blocks to bring out your inner rockstar! Check out our other offerings from Brandi’s album In These Silent Days.
Unique Pick of the Week
· “The Safety Dance [easy – abridged]” by Jennifer Eklund: Originally by Men Without Hats, this arrangement by our Signature Artist Jennifer Eklund is well-written for beginner piano students. It makes this fun 80s pop tune accessible, including minimal movement for the left hand, so make sure to bring out the melody!
