In 1903, Irish-American cellist, conductor, and composer Victor Herbert composed the melodious fantasy "Toyland" for the operetta 'Babes in Toyland.' The song gently descends you into an orchestrated daydream full of somber strings contradicted by hopeful woodwinds as Glen MacDonough's words ask for you to stay childlike and carefree for as long as possible.

'Babes in Toyland' is one of many well-known operettas created by Herbert throughout the 1900s, with its first performance premiering at the Grand Opera House in Chicago and later appearing on Broadway.
