2/29/2008 9:24:49 PMHonestly, I was disappointed with the quality and accuracy of this arrangement. Not only is the intro highly unimpressive, but the rest of the piece is unvaried and it's mainly just chords in the left hand for the first three verses. Really... it's great for the beginner who is looking to play a fun song, but find something different if you're a more serious player. Example... the right hand in the beginning should alternate btwn the E and B above middle C AND the B below middle C. Play octaves in the left hand. See what I mean?

No. I dont see what you mean. This is the piano part of the song pulled out, so of course it is going to seem weak. I have serious doubts that the pianist in Journey was a concert pianist, so his part wont be insanely difficult. I personally have listened to this song countless times and played along myself, and the piano part is never really difficult or overly exciting. Its the combination of the driving beat, this basic, highly recognizable piano part, and the fun guitar riffs and vamps on top that make this song what it is. If you were to add your suggested alterations, it would cease to be Journeys "Dont Stop Believin".
Keyboardskater... I see what you are saying when it sounds exactly like how it is actually played in Journey but I know for me I am not looking for the EXACT way the person plays it in journey. I want what the whole band plays for piano not just what the pianist plays. I want to play the song as a whole on piano... not just the "piano parts"
