Vocalist must be able to hold the melody with confidence2/10/2013 4:20:34 PMJust like when Willie Nelson singing this, the piano or guitar is truly accompaniment - not carrying the song. Piano is in original key of D, (two sharps)so probably is easily adapted for guitar. Melody starts on F# above middle C. Vocal range is easy - Song goes down to the B just below middle C and only up to A on second space of treble clef; therefore less than one octave range - equates to easy to sing, right? Chord progressions are necessary if played on guitar. I dont play guitar, but sometimes there are four chord changes while the vocalist holds a note for four counts. That is what makes the song so beautiful, but can anyone sing this without sounding nasal like Willie Nelson? This is definitely Willies trademark.

Lovely arrangement8/5/2015 11:16:57 PMThis is a lovely arrangement, the piano is straightforward and matches the album, and I was able to adjust it to a key that matches my voice.
