Good Introduction to Singing while Playing
9/18/2015 9:18:43 PMOne of my younger piano students asked me if we could start working on helping her learn songs that she could both sing and play at the same time. Although she is an excellent pianist (late-intermediate), she has struggled when she has previously tried this before. Since one of her favorite musicals is "Mary Poppins" I was excited when I found this arrangement. This version of the song is arranged to be easily playable by an intermediate level pianist, so it is an excellent introduction to convincing singing and playing. My student really enjoyed learning this song, and was very proud of herself (rightfully so!) for how well she was able to perform it after only three weeks of working on it. Because the arrangement is so simple, I would only recommend it to individuals who are intending to utilize both the piano and the vocal parts of the song, but for a combination of the two, it does an excellent job
