Mancini Magic
10/15/2015 5:22:30 PMHenry Mancini had a knack for writing infectious and haunting songs with simple elegance. In their simplest form they almost seem elementary, yet they lend themselves to multiple interpretations and arrangements. This arrangement of the title song Charade is a great case in point. It begins with a simple melody then launches into multiple variations on the theme. This arrangement is a great opportunity for an advanced pianist to show off some fancy finger work. Its also a great exercise for less-experienced players to practice finger work and moving from one octave to another. Still one of my favorites after 50+ years!
