Question:
What are notation and scoring examples? If I see an example for something,
does it mean that I can download the music?
Answer: We have begun to show notation and scoring examples for some
items in our music books & more catalog in an effort to supply our customers
with the most information about the music we sell. Since these examples do
not show the music you will actually be receiving, they should serve only as
a general guide as to how an item's music is formatted. This is different
from our digital sheet music, where you can look and listen to actual music
samples through our musicnotes viewer and player. The notation and scoring
examples are displayed in pop-up windows - not the musicnotes viewer or
player - and are shown for items that must be shipped to your home or office.
You cannot download or listen to music seen in a pop-up window.

Question:
What is a "Special Order Item"?

and are not kept in daily stock rotation. Musicnotes.com will notify you if a Special Order Item
remains on order with the publisher for more than 30 days. Special Orders cannot be altered
or cancelled after order placement nor can they be returned. An additional $5.00 handling fee applies to all Special Order
Items. All Special Order Items are shipped separately.
Question:
What is a fake book?
Answer: Commonly used by professional jazz musicians, fake books
are large collections of popular songs. Fake books typically only contain
the lyrics, chord symbols and melody line of each tune. Musicians will
often use these skeletons to improvise or "fake" their own arrangements.
Question:
What does P/V/G or Piano/Vocal/Guitar mean?
Answer: A vast majority of our rock and pop catalog is arranged
for Piano/Vocal/Guitar. This means that the song includes a piano arrangement,
the vocals, and guitar frames or guitar chord names listed above the piano
part.
Question:
What is a Leadsheet?

Leadsheets typically only contain the lyrics, chord symbols and melody line of a song and are rarely more than one page in length. Musicians will often use these skeletons to improvise their own arrangements. Leadsheets often do not contain complete lyrics to the song.
