Next time we meet

This song was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither, and Chris Waters. It was performed on two of the Gaithers Homecoming DVDs, one of which was taped in Jerusalem. The theme is about the longing of the people of Israel to return to their native land and celebrate the passover in Jerusalem, the City of David. Jerusalem means "City of Peace" but historically it has been fought over, destroyed and rebuilt. Even today it is only partly Jewish with Muslims claiming other parts. The song expresses the yearning and patience of the people of Israel for the restoration of their ancestral land. The C minor key of the verses expresses the longing and the major key of E flat of the chorus expresses the fulfillment. The key change from c to B flat just about brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I am thankful that Musicnotes is able to supply the music I love.
