Kevin Woosley is a distinguished pianist, teacher, composer, arranger, author, and improviser. With a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance, Woosley has extensive experience performing and composing across a variety of styles. He specializes in teaching improvisation to musicians, especially classically trained pianists (and has two fully improvised piano albums currently published). One of his many areas of musical passion involves arranging classic rock music from the 1970s and 80s for advanced solo piano (as if Franz Liszt composed Bohemian Rhapsody). In addition to his composing and arranging, Kevin Woosley is a full-time faculty member at The University of Alabama where he oversees and teaches class piano and music appreciation (for which he also wrote the textbook). Woosley is a specialist in musician wellness and is an active accompanist and performer. His solo concerts drastically vary in style (from classical to jazz, improv to rock, all in a single concert). In his free time, Woosley enjoys drinking coffee, running, hiking, creating children's books, and spending time with his beautiful wife, amazing sons, and energetic dogs.
