Hong Chongho was born on February 21, 1969, in Jeju, South Korea. He began his musical journey as a percussionist at the age of ten and has since become an accomplished Korean composer, conductor, and percussionist. He graduated from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, studying conducting and composition under Prof. Vasil Kazandjiev. In 2017, he was awarded the Gold Prize at the Korean Band Composition Competition, and in 2018, he received the prestigious Korean Band Award for composition. In 2019, he was appointed as a commissioned composer for the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival. From 2016 to 2022, he served as President of the Jeju Band Association. As of 2025, he serves as a Chair of the Jeju Arts Center Steering Committee, a board member of the Jeju Composers Association, and a music columnist for a local newspaper.
