What a Friend, by Kathryn Scott
In the Spring of 2012, I listened to a youtube arrangement of "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". The lyrics, written by Joseph Scriven in 1855, and the melody, written by Charles Converse in 1868 have always spoken to me, even as a child. When I heard the youtube arrangement entitled, "What a Friend," by Kathryn Scott, my love for this song was brought to a deeper level. I was frustrated, though, by the fact that the traditional accompaniment from my hymnal did not have the same effect on me. I finally decided to search for Kathryn Scotts arrangement and found it at Musicnotes.com! When I received it and played it, I was so pleased to hear that the arrangement was almost identical to what I heard on youtube. I play it for my students in our Parochial school. It puts them in such a peaceful trance and they love to sing along! Thank you, Musicnotes, for making this resource available. I have been very pleased by your other sheet music as well. Your download process is fast, the copies are very clear, and the change of key options are a big bonus.
