Reviews
Displaying all reviews (1)This is a great piece by one of the best "English Art Song" composers, from the first part of the 1900s. Its a great concert piece, telling a folky story, with lots of interesting rhythmic and chromatic twists. Michael Head is undoubtedly an amazing composer. His songs are based on poems of the time and are truly a duet with the piano. This song is only for someone with an excellent sense of pitch as it has to be performed unaccompanied for the Grade 8 Trinity singing exam.
